Pacitti Company: SPILL National Platform and Showcase 2014/15
SPILL Festival is the UK’s premier artist-led festival of experimental theatre, live art and performance, produced and curated by Pacitti Company. The SPILL National Platform provides a significant development opportunity for emergent artists, 10 of whom receive further support to develop work to be shown at SPILL Festival in the SPILL Showcase. Pacitti Company was formed in 1990. Since then it has continually produced award winning international group and solo performance works for a range of theatre, gallery and site specific spaces world-wide.
We are supporting the project for a third time in 2014, we recognise the quality of the context that both opportunities provide. They offer valuable support and vital performance opportunities directly to a high number of early career artists, especially those employing experimental and radical approaches to contemporary performance making.
SPILL National Platform 2014 will present 35 exceptional artists and companies, resident in the UK and Ireland who have less than three years professional experience. Eligible artists will be engaged in the creation of experimental live performance, sound, film and video, installation, new media/digital practices, and activist actions (a new strand for 2014). From these artists, 10 will be selected to participate in the SPILL 2015 Showcase where their work will reach an audience of UK and international producers and promoters. They will undertake a nine month programme of mentoring and bespoke development support based on their specific needs and potential as they develop their work.
The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Monday 28 April 2014. For more information and details of how to apply please visit: www.spillfestival.com/national-platform
Selected artists in 2013 were: Madeleine Botet de Lacaze, Tim Bromage, Season Butler, RosanaCade, Paul Easterbrook, Ruth Flynn, Jo Hellier, Lucy Hutson, Elena Molinaro and Selina Thompson.
