Magnetic North

Artist Attachment Programme

Magnetic North is an award-winning theatre company based in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was formed in 1999 by theatre and opera director Nicholas Bone to create and develop new work. Working with actors, playwrights, designers, composers and other artists, and through an integrated programme of creative research and development, artist support and production, it has created a distinctive body of cross-art form performance work that is stylish, articulate and individual. We first supported Magnetic North in 2008.

Our support will go towards an attachment programme for two artists of up to 18 months, each exploring a significant development in their practice. Artists can be from any art form, and in particular playwrights, visual artists, composers, choreographers and film-makers. Each will receive a bursary of £15,000  and access to a further production budget, alongside mentoring from Artistic Director Nicholas Bone and support from the Magnetic North team.

The call for applications will open in April 2017.
