Q Can I apply for study/course fees?
A No we do not pay study/course fees.
Q My project takes place abroad; Can I apply for funding?
N No. We only fund projects in the UK.
Q I'm taking a project abroad. Can I apply for funding?
A No. We cannot support projects happening outside of the UK.
Q I'm touring a project around Britain. Can I apply for funding?
A No. We cannot support touring.
Q Our school is applying for Special Schools Status. Can we apply for a grant?
A No. We do not give grants for Special Schools Status. We only support projects in the arts, and artists who have embarked upon a professional career following any study.
Q I have a wildlife/nature/conservation project. Can I apply for a grant?
A No. We stopped funding wildlife/nature/conservation some years ago and now solely support projects in the arts in the UK.
Q I'm involved in medical or mental health projects. Can I apply for funding?
A No. We stopped funding medical or mental health projects some years ago and now solely support projects in the arts in the UK.
Q I want to apply for putting facilities and disabled access ramps into our local church. Is that eligible for a grant from the Jerwood Charitable Foundation?
A No. We do not give grants for capital work, or for projects outside of the arts in the UK.
The JCF will not consider applications for support for:
- projects which will happen outside of the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland
- projects which support artists who are not considered resident in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland
- building or capital costs (including purchase of equipment)
- study or tuition fees, or course fees for individuals
- grants towards the purchase of musical instruments
- education or participation projects for those who have not yet left formal education
- projects in the fields of religion or sport
- touring or production costs for performances or exhibitions
- animal rights or welfare appeals
- general fundraising appeals
- appeals to establish endowment funds for other charities
- medical research
- social welfare
- retrospective awards
- environmental or conservation projects
- medical or mental health projects
The Board of Trustees at their discretion may, where there are exceptional circumstances, opt to waive an exclusion.
